Welcome to Wild Learners!

I am excited to be offering small-group education to the Nelson Homeschool community. Education based on exploration, STEAM studies, nature-learning, and most of all, FUN!

I have been homeschooling my own three children for the last three and a half years, and am looking forward to inviting other children on our learning journey. Before I became a mother I worked as a primary school teacher, and I loved the creativity involved in making learning exciting and inspiring for my students. My passion lies in connecting children with the wider world around them, and in nature-based education. I have worked as an Outdoor Educator and a Wilderness Guide throughout New Zealand, and enjoy helping children to feel empowered within the outdoors. My own children are 8, 6 and 3 years old, and all keen outdoor enthusiasts themselves! We love getting creative with our learning, and on many days you can find us getting down and dirty with science experiments, creative projects, and messy play. We are passionate about exploring our local environment, and enjoy getting out on adventures around the top of the south whenever we can.
