OUR LEARNING APPROACH
INSPIRING LIFE LONG LEARNERS Children learn best when curriculum experiences represent their curiosity and strengths. Through their time at Wild Learners, our days activities will follow your child’s lead within an emergent curriculum, creating meaningful learning experiences.
EXPERIENTIAL AND PLAY BASED LEARNING Learning through the experiences of touching, moving, listening and observing. Using all of our senses and developing our whole body.
LEARNING TOGETHER Embracing the māori value of ‘ako’ which shows that learning flows both ways, from teacher to student and back again. Relationship based learning within a mixed age group, embracing tuakana (more experienced/ older)and teina (less experienced/ younger) social grouping.
NATURE AS OUR TEACHER The natural world is rich with history, meaning, connection and wonder. Nature teaches us that the world is full of possibility, and that we are too.
FREE RANGE LEARNING Building resilience, risk-assessment, confidence and creativity through free play.
EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABILITY Learning to care for our environment and all the life within it. Taking action to ensure the wellbeing of our people, our place, and our world.
